Newbie on a learning mission

I have just installed a 140l steel fuel tank & get it certified tomorrow. My wife & stepson are heading to the Kimberley in 3 weeks.
Still unsure about the “need” to get codes reconfigured for DTE but I have been advised by SWMBO to find out.
Don’t want to rush into it just before they head off in case something doesn’t go to plan.
Lots of research required by this not too technically capable oldster.
