Cruise control in a XLS T6

Hi all :)

I have a 2012 PX1/T6 XLS 2.2 Ranger in SA.

Has anyone retro fitted cruise control ( not the adaptive one ) to a model that doesn't have it ? I had a look around and its seems their is extra wiring that goes to the steering wheel.

I remember with a MK2 Focus I had, if you had the sensors on the clutch and brake pedal, you could buy a steering wheel with the controls and enable the cruise control function via that elm327 program and it worked.

I think you will find as you said that you will be doing extra wiring.

I would say you are on your own with this but most things can be done with time. Give it a go and let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the reply :)

Update:

I bought a t6/px1 Wildtrak steering wheel with the controls. The t7/px2 will not fit as the plug on the clock spring is different.
Fitted the wheel yesterday and by default the CC does not work, but the illumination works sofar which is a positive sign. If I have some time tomorrow I'll try to enable the cruise control module and see if this works.

It works! :D

The audio controls wasn't wired up to the head unit and I have an aftermarket one in, so I wired the two single wires from the clock spring connector and that fully works now.

Cruise control I enabled in the BCM, and had to relearn the ABS module, and boom. Its working fully, disengages on the clutch, brakes and buttons :)

Well done mate, good to see getting your hands dirty in the end gave you a positive outcome. Enjoy.
