Cluster controlled DRL - NZ Wildtrack 2018

My goal is to have control of the factory installed daytime running lights. Currently it is fixed in the firmware with no cluster control menu option. Last night I made the following modification to IPC module:
IPC 720-02-01 xxEx xxxx xxxx Daytime Lights option & Lane Keeping System present in Settings
This by itself added a greyed out (non-selectable) menu option for DRL. I have since found out that I need to enable cluster control in conjunction with the above option, I have 2 questions:

1. Assuming I have currently installed functioning factory DRL's, is the following a reasonable setting choice:
BCM 726-16-02 0101 0101 014A
BCM 726-21-01 xxxx xxxx x1xx
IPC 720-02-01 xxEx xxxx xxxx
2. What is the difference between the following:
IPC 720-02-01 xx4x xxxx xxxx
and
IPC 720-02-01 xxEx xxxx xxxx
(I have lane assist and I did try 720-02-01 xxEx xxxx xxxx previously which seemed okay other than it was greyed out)

Use the Non as-built changes. I have had the required changes added to Forscan a while back. You will see multiple changes in IPC and another in BCM. Select enable etc, write. Done.

Thanks, yeah that makes a lot of sense, less chance of a human mistake etc. So forscan have created composite functions which apply the appropriate changes and I assume you advised what they should be? So if something doesn't work I have to dump the memory, do a diff and apply the delta or re-write my entire as-built backup to the module? How can you be certain those composite non-asbuilt functions will work on my firmware? Can I give you my as-built for you to eyeball?

Changes I put forward are at bit level and Every Ranger Everest worldwide will be compatible.

I would not rely on too many changes from overseas USA as the original findings were not at bit level and this can cause unseen problems.

At this stage I would say write your original asbuilt back then go through the non asbuilt options enabling and disabling what you want. I have added the most common options, there are others to be added for the Forscan Team lack any additional resources to add them.

There is over 300 changes in the IPC for instance but in the real world the average user will change about 5 of them.

Non asbuilt is asbuilt but just displayed in a form that as you said, minimises mistakes. Sync2, Sync3 became an issue hence why Forscan now asks what version you have as this will apply the appropriate non asbuilt options for that model. As you already know this does not help if you change the asbuilt manually but is the best we could come up with at the time.

If there is something specific you want or want checked then let me know.

That's great, how do you know that?

What is the risk of using non as-built modifications on the IPC and BMC modules, I'm trying to de-risk bricking my trunk.

Zero risk.

Thanks, my wife has the trunk for the next couple of days, I'll make some non as-built changes sometime next week and report back.

Can you please tell the exact changes in BCM non asbulit? I've enabled the IPC stuff and see the cluster showing the option but greyed out. I doing this for Everest 2017 Titanium which has a dedicated DRL. Thanks so much!
