Hi
I have a 2019 Ranger and have just bought a Ultragauge MX. I initially plugged it into the rear OBD port but it couldn't identify the vehicle's protocol - it never exited scanning mode. I then tried the front OBD port and it worked fine. Is this expected? Anyone esle found this?

Hi
Have never heard of one not working in the rear port.
Rear port may faulty but unlikely
When you insert it into the rear port make sure it is squared up and push it in evenly but firm.
It would be very easy to bend a pin

Front is linked to the rear, rear is the main one and either way there should be no issue. It is common on a PX3 for them not to be picked up, just set (force) the protocol in the tool to CAN in the UG and it will be fine.

I tried it again this morning and it worked. Not sure what happened yesterday, probably operator error!

The mounting bracket looks good too. Well designed, thanks Stewart.

If it wants to play up again, lock the protocol to CAN rather than auto. Mine was playing up until I did this.
