Seat Belts

I will be taking delivery of my Ranger Wildtrak in early February 2018.
I have MRS exemption from wearing a lap and sash seat belt, long story short, I was involved in a traumatic MVA where the other driver fell asleep at the wheel and drove straight into my car and some of the physical damage I suffered included 17 breaks to my rib cage, my sternum was split in three places and I had to have the lower 5 vertebrae fused into a single bone.
Currently when I'm driving my partners little Kia or my Land Rover Discovery I insert a seat belt "catch" I obtained from my local wrecker into the "female" portion of the seat belt to stop the alarm from sounding off, its far easier than disconnecting the seat pressure switch -- will this method work in the Ranger or am I going to have to do some programming with the Forscan ?
