Trailer for PX2 2016 XLS. I have connected everything and the trailer module that goes under the passenger seat (bought from Ford). Enabled the trailer module on forescan however I am still unable to get lights on the trailer. Am I missing something? trailer lights work as I have tested on other vehicle.

Assume TRM module is shown in Forscan?

Delete your vehicle profile and do a new scan, see if it is visible. Any DTCs?

Form there check all fuses are in place for the TRM module as there are multiple inputs.

Next you could check light circuit pinouts at the TRM as this will rule out a wiring issue between the TRM and the socket.

Being these will work even if you do not run the procedure says it is another issue. Trailer module procedure is to enable sway control etc.

Yes, TRM is enabled in Forscan.
Deleted profile and the only DTCs are to radio (i installed custom unit)
I checked and saw only 2 fuses in the bottom power distribution box. Fuses 64 and 87 seems ok. Is there any other fuse i may have missed?

How do i check light circuit pinouts at the TRM? Just with multimeter? Or are there lights that supposed to show up in module?
This was only light emitting to the TPM module with ignition on:

Never looked in or at a module. Didn't think they were white either but could be wrong, is this a genuine or aftermarket module?

Test light should work fine light circuits.

At the end of the day the module should not need programming. They are pre programmed and will work whether the additional changes are made to any asbuilt or programming with IDS etc.

As silly as it may seem, have you checked to make sure the plug is in all the way at the module and at the tow bar?
Mine worked straight away as soon as it was all plugged in.

That's a genuine module, under that grey cover is a white box. That looks the same as the one I recently fitted.

Yeah it's genuine purchased from Ford.
Basically because mine was XLS and didn't come with towbar etc Ford had advised I would need the tow module and also for them to program it so it's enabled. $70 they quoted to program, so i figured I could just enable it using forescan.

Yeah checked it was all the way plugged in.

I might just hook up some wires and see if i get a response before the towbar cable, as I suspect that might be faulty.

Turns out the module was faulty. Plugged in the replacement and all working as expected.

Hi guys
I have a OBDlink EX and I can't seem to get the modules to load. Can someone confirm that the EX is compatible or not. Forscan is the latest version. Image attached of all I get when I plug in.
I've had it sit and "read" the vehicle for over 10 mins and nothing more. What am I missing ?

Delete existing vehicle profiles and start a fresh one.

Also check if you are using the latest version of Forscan.

DTE is based on hard coded tank size vs fuel flow though the injectors or pump.

Hi Stewart, obviously an old thread but relevant to my question. I have adjusted my tank size to 120L in my 2016 everest by simply editing the tank volume value in the non as built modules.

That seems to have adjusted the DTE to match the L/100km when full, but the problem is the DTE doesn't seem to go down at the right rate.

The fuel level gauge also stays full for the first 40L worth (based on your comment above is this unavoidable?)

From what I can tell, the DTE is getting confused by the fuel gauge level. eg when the full gauge gets down to half way (after not moving for the first 40L worth), the DTE indicates a value that is roughly half of what is should be for a 120L tank, but there is only 40L left (not 60L) as the gauge doesn't move for the first 40L.

Any ideas on this? Would it be better to make the adjustment in the as built modules?

Non asbuilt and asbuilt are the same values, just a different way of viewing them.

You cannot do anything about the top of the gauge, the mechanical float arm does not go to the top of the new tank, hence does not move for some time. I also do not find them to be linear due to the fact that the tanks are not uniform in shape. There can also be variances based on how much the installer bent the float arm.

Basically leave as factory or leave it at 120L, at the end of the day it is a guide only and the real level is what is showing on the gauge. It is mechanical all the way to gauge and DTE is calculated based long term data.
