Trailer Tow Module and Reverse Sensors - Forscan configurable ?

Hi All,

I’ve got a 2017 XLS and am just about to fit a 2014 XLT rear step and tow bar. Questions are...

Can I use the Sensors from the XLT bar or will I have to swap them over with my factory ones? I wasn’t sure if the sensors run on a single electrical rail and are serialised or individually wired back to the sensor module?

I think I need to get a DG9T19H517AFK1T which is the Ford trailer wiring kit with module... Am I able to install this myself and enable using forscan ?

Cheers,
Evan

You can run the trailer config routine from forscan so that is no problem.

See if the PX1 sensors fit the PX2 plug and if they do then give them a shot.If not you will be using your existing sensors and worst case just buy sensor install cradles from ARB although most rear bars just use the factory sensor cradles that are in your PX2 bumper.

I just enabled the Trailer Tow Module in Forscan but there were no options for a 12 Pin connector. I selected 7 Pin plus Power, would this be the correct option?

Thanks
Duncan

Test it and see if trailer lights work as expected. If so then call it good.

Thanks Stewart. I have tested with a normal 7 pin trailer plug and all is good. I do not have access to a trailer with a 12 pin plug at the moment to test and have honestly never used one before. I might just call it done for now as the chances of me needing the auxiliary pin in the near future is low.
