My 2013 Ranger has developed a mystery fault where it cuts out intermittently and at random while driving. It only lasts milliseconds and the engine kicks back in (being a manual I guess) It does not give any fault codes on my Scangauge. I took it to the local Ford dealer who couldn't get it to fault or find any codes. Auto electrician mate found 17 codes on his Snap-on Scanner. These may have been there for some time and not necessarily relevant. These were all deleted but problem still there. I checked, cleaned and tightened all earth and battery connections and electrical plugs, fitted a new Crank Angle Sensor, MAF Sensor,Air Filter Element and replaced the Power Hold and Ignition Relays.Problem still there so purchased a used Security set for a well known 4WD parts supplier and took the vehicle back to Ford for them to reprogram the ECU/PCM .Didn't help so they ran auxillary wiring to Crank Angle Sensor, Cam Angle Sensor and Electric Fuel Pump in the tank and also replaced the Suction Control Valve on the fuel pump and the Fuel Pressure Sensor. Problem still there so Ford then said it needed a new High Pressure Fuel Pump which was duly installed but failed to fix the problem so they removed it and replaced the old one.The vehicle is now in worse condition than when it went to Ford as it now breaks down on the roadside when they test drive it, which it never did before.they have had the car for three months now and say they can't fix it so any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.
