Electronics playing up ! Car Wash !!

Every time I wash my Wildtrak I get some erroneous messages, either there is an obstacle close to the front bulbar, or there is one to close to the rear (neither exist) or the door opening siren starts off (although its been deleted) and at present the current one is the system keeps asking me if it should search for a WiFi !
Its enough to put a man off washing his 4WD - which with me doesn't take too much prodding

I should add that the Wildtrak gets a through pressure clean underneath after every off-road adventure which has been almost every week since I took delivery of it last February. Its amazing just how much mud and crud gets caught up on the chassis rails and on the ARB under body protection plates, I'm sure that over the years (12 years and 640,000 kilometres with a Disco) I've top dressed the front lawn several times over :D

Its obviously water or moisture getting into some connection(s) - and Ideas or do I have to go around and check every one, pull them apart, blow them dry and apply liberal amounts of Vaseline to prevent further problems ?

When you say obstacle are you referring to an alarm associated with the park sensors or the driving aid radar?

Either is likely to throw an alarm with just water droplets in front, particularly if where you live has hard water or water that has a high iron content such as bore water. See if you can recreate, or isolate by just cleaning the water off the affected sensor and related connector to see if that clears it.

I think it would be unlikely that it would be water in the connections as they use a dust proof connector (assuming you haven't got an aftermarket bull bar and rear bar that some one has hacked and not used correct connectors)

Kinda weird the Wifi one but it could be the electronics throwing a random when shorted?

I was referring to the park sensors - the ones that tell you that an obstacle is close to the front of the car, I've had issues with the radar in the ARB bulbar and I'm on top of that little issue and I'm aware of how to clean it and get it back to operating as it should and nope, the last time I "hosed" the Wildtrak down it was from out of our 15000 litre rain water tank, so the only 'pollution" likely in that water would be some bird crap from the roof, so any iron or calcium content is implausable. The after-market ARB rear bar utilises the original Ford harness, as did the front bulbar so thats hardly likely to be an issue either, unless its a case of moisture getting into the harness connections, I guess its back to Mr Henry Ford for him to do yet another scan to see if he can rectify the niggles. You're right though the recurring WiFi issue is intriguing to say the least, as was the door chimes returning for around three days even when its been deleted.
All up though if these are the only "issues" that I have with the Wildtrak given the on-board computers, the ECU and the complexity of the electronics and the roads that I choose to drive on I think that I'm a lucky man.

Check if the front bar had the o-rings installed around the sensors, if not go back to ARB as it was a fix after the fix that they tried to fix.

Asbuilt cannot write itself back so check what Forscan says about whether the chimes were re enabled or not. Only a user, using Forscan can re enable door chimes, there is not a backup and there is no black magic.

At times the sensors will play up with water. It is usually some type of reflection although I have not had the issue in a long time and that time it was water around the sensor.

Connect you Sync 3 to wifi and it will go away for awhile. Newer updates seem to want to connect after a set period or turn off automatic updates in the wifi menu, general settings area.

Stewart (and all others)

The chimes have turned themselves off !!!
The "O" rings are fitted but ARB are greasing the rear springs next Thursday so I'll have them check them - again !
I'll connect to my home WiFi and see what happens and report back to you

Thanks to all for your interest & comments.
