Injector code on timing cover and FORSCan Service Procedure

Hi Stewart,

I have posted this in the FORScan forum but thought you may have a better idea.

The help they provide at this link:
https://forscan.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2
This makes sense in that I have the same barcode arrangement on my Ranger.
As I understand things this is the 16 digit calibration code per injector.
My sticker:
EngineBarcode.jpeg
EngineBarcode.jpeg (123.54 KiB) Viewed 152 times
EngineBarcode.jpeg
EngineBarcode.jpeg (123.54 KiB) Viewed 152 times
However, when i run FORScan to read or write the codes I get this:
FORScan_ServiceProc.jpeg
FORScan_ServiceProc.jpeg (121.74 KiB) Viewed 152 times
FORScan_ServiceProc.jpeg
FORScan_ServiceProc.jpeg (121.74 KiB) Viewed 152 times
Which ties in with Siemens injectors from what I've researched.

My objective was to confirm that the correct codes were entered.
Any thoughts?

As far as I knew the service proc is in in Forscan for a PX2 so its plausible your vehicle is being picked up as something else.

In this case I would send your logs to [email protected] outlining the issues you are having. It could be an issue they are not aware of or could be that the service menu should not even be showing up for that vehicle.

If I was to do it then I would use Ford IDS to complete due to not seeing the procedure in Forscan for my vehicle.

Got a response form the FORScan guys.
They say the label is Hex ASCII code so it converts correcly.
So 3938434A4745 = 98CJGE
Turns out older Ford IDS used to use the number system on my vehicle but has subsequently changed to the 6 digit system.
FORScan uses the new system so if i convert my 16 digit Hex ASCII to the character format then all numbers match up.

Job done.
:)

Glad you got it sorted and posted back.
