Not sure but my ute was a feb 2018 rego and i think a dec 2017 build and needed the update. It did not have a full service at a dealer and so i assume it came out the factory with the problem

Do you have to pay for updates?

Given there is a TSB related to it, I would think you have a fair claim under consumer affairs protection, fit for use etc

If Forscan tells me there's a 'lastest known' for PCM and TCM and Ford tell me during a service that i have the latest updates, who am i to believe?

Ford wanted to charge me $170 if there was an update, for labour they said. How it costs that much to simply plug something in is beyond me, but i would have argued it if they did try to charge me.

It is not a matter of of just plug in. Being I did a PCM update this morning using Fords software and it took 30 minutes then TCM then then then. If they use FDRS and all update all modules then there goes an hour. An hour labour is probably fair and I would charge for it also. There is always more to the process and someone labour is labour.

As for what Forscan says then if it is the lastest version then it will be right at the moment.

What is the reason for an update, do you have an issue?
