Bliss sensors Next Gen

Does anyone know exactly what the Bliss sensors in the RA-Next Gen tail lights actually control or have an effect over. I’ve seen various issues written about when a tray is fitted, but I would like to know 100%. Do they effect the rear view camera or the 360deg camera view for instance?
