Annoying chimes - headlights/driver door open

Good afternoon all

I am not to sure where to put this, and if it is in the wrong place, i do apologize.

I have managed to turn off most of the annoying chimes using ForScan, but there is one that i just can not work out.

My scenario is - car is running and headlights are on (not set to automatic, but set to on). Turn the car off. Lights will still be on. Open the car door and the lights go off and the chiming starts.

Close the door, chimes go off.

As the headlights are turning off as soon as the car door is opened, and with the motor off, there is, or should be no drain on the battery, so i don't really need to know that the lights are set to on, as they are off anyway, and if i want to leave the door open for any reason, i don't want to be hearing the blooding chimes!!!!!! :x

If someone can point me in the right direction that would be great.

Clint

You cannot disable headlight chime, it is in the on position and not automatic hence will chime what ever you do.

I have an odd one for you, I had the Drivers door chimes turned off way back over two years ago, in fact I think you did them by remote.
For reasons beyond my understanding they have now returned - but not all the time, occasionally when I open the drivers door they will sound, at other times they remain silent. I think that the light switch needs to be replaced as if I turn the lights on manually it can take some seconds for them to come on -- can the two be connected ??

It will be as simple as the light switch is in the manual position when this happens. Turning off chimes has no affect on this change.

Just a follow up. I purchased a new light switch - $99.00 inc GST and the chimes have now gone when the driver's door is open.
The clincher that it was a defective switch was when I tried to switch the fog lights on and nothing happened.

I turned my door chimes off over a year ago and it came back last week. When I checked all the forscan settings everything looked how it should so I searched here and found this post and found that my headlights were set to on! Turned them to auto and that fixed it. My god, how anyone can put up with the door chime is beyond me.....I'd forgotten how annoying it was!
