Tyre pressures on CAN?

Hi all.

This will no doubt be the first post of many as I'm about to embark on a small project on my 2018 Wildtrack. I work as a mechanical engineer for a company in the rail industry, building road-rail vehicles. For many years we've used an external contractor for our electrical and control systems but next month are bringing it in-house.

As part of this we're employing an experienced PLC programmer with extensive CAN experience, in particular J1939 on off-highway vehicles.

I'm going to use the opportunity to grow my knowledge by developing a PLC system to do a few things on the vehicle, including a tyre inflation/deflation system where I can set the desired pressure on a small screen and let the PLC decide if it needs to let air out of the tyre or run the compressor.

Currently my plan for this is to fit a pressure transducer at the compressor end of the air hose but I was wondering if the tyre pressure information is on the CAN anywhere?

I've looked through he PID list provided on this forum and it's not listed - But has anyone found them?

Hi Goochie, yes mate, they do exist as I can monitor them on my Scangauge. Since I'm travelling far from home at the moment and all my notes are at home, it's a bit hard for me to list them but the scangauge codes are listed on this forum somewhere... check out the Scanguage topics...

Sounds like you've got some interesting projects planned? Look forward to seeing how you go. Good luck mate. :)
