Silent Mode

Also known as Police Mode in some cars like the Explorer. So, if you're sick of the indicators flashing, the interior and the tub lights coming on and the headlights staying on for a while every time you lock the car, then this mod is for you. After enabling this mode, all you will get is the click of the door lock actuators... nothing more. Great for your battery life and also good when you're in a camp or caravan park so you won't annoy your neighbours.

This mod will enable a menu option in Settings - Vehicle where you can enable/disable Silent Mode.

I've enabled this and it works great. Except for one thing - the 8" screen lights up, blinding me and the dog. Has anyone found any APIM switches to support staying dark until ignition on? I know it's a longshot...

Try turning off the display in the SYNC settings. Works on the MY17 anyway

There is a change that may suit you. I have it listed somewhere, yep somewhere. I will get back to you on it.

Try this Richard. I would go and retry but changing IPC over.

You probably have all zeros.

Let me know the outcome.

Previous was 726-58-02 0000-0000-0188

Changing it didn't seem to help. Screen still lit up after entering the car.

This one is for Richard.

Silent mode APIM brightness. Although I have not gone through every setting in the APIM as waiting for the restart means it will take forever just use the Lincoln boot logo as it is a dark startup logo so the vehicle does not light up. Assuming you can deal with the logo anyway.

APIM

7D0-01-02

8xxx-xxxx-xxxx

or if you want Lincoln logo and a extra menu on the main screen and a picture of an electric car then.

Axxx-xxxx-xxxx

Lincoln, Ford, one other I cant remember the branding.

I do not run any startup logo at all anymore. It now is instant on and no waiting.

Hi Stewart,
is this in the non-Asbuilts?
i cant see any mention to the loading screens other than for sync3.

and now that the Asbuilt spreadsheet is gone, i don't know where to look.

There is a bit going on in this thread, tell me what you are trying to do, IPC, APIM, changes?

Simon, if you've enabled silent mode properly, you should also have enabled a on/off check box in the right small screen. Can't remember which menu it's in, but have a look as it should be there.

Latest Forscan update will already have silent mode option in IPC asbuilt. No need to change any code.
