I'm thinking of swapping one of the factory 12v outlets in the dashboard for a USB or double USB outlet.

Does anyone have a recommended replacement? Is a px3 factory one available?

I'm not interested in replacing the while lot with a Lightforce panel. I just want to change the socket.

Factory USB run off the Sync 3 head unit so low amp output and needs to be modified a fair bit to fit in a PX2 as the are usually cut as are part of the loom.

Why not get a small slimline USB that fits in the 12 volt socket that is rated for 2.5 amp. Saves a lot of pulling apart.

Most of the round double USB type should fit without any modifications. Like this - https://www.jaycar.com.au/easy-install- ... =relevance

But I would get a QC quick charging type as it's no longer just high amp. USB-C even to future proof it.

I replaced the factory USB one with the Lightforce one, it has dual voltage gauge and USB - https://au.lightforce.com/products/dual ... st-charger

I had thought my plug in adaptor had failed because it wasn't charging my phone as fast as Google maps was using the battery!

But I downloaded the Ampere app and did some experiments yesterday and it turns out it was my cable. I was using a cheap magnetic one from eBay to save plugging and unplugging all the time and it was charging VERY slowly. The factory cable is nearly 100x faster!

I have found a Q3 capable magnetic cable so I'll give that a go. Better than pulling everything apart for sure.

Thanks.

I forgot to mention, removing either the factory 12v or USB are not easy. Those clips that hold them in are a PITA.
I left the 12v socket in, because you can get much much higher wattage USB Chargers. I have a 100w USB-C adapter which charges my laptop.
