SmartCharge 2020 XLT PX3

I'll start by saying this. My 65 year old step father is the nicest, most chill, easy going, gentle man to walk the face of this earth. For him to ring me today so angry that he was almost crying is a travesty and totally blamed on a local Victoria Ford Dealer and their piss poor attitude and shocking service to a retiree. Rant over.

The old man has just bought a Ranger and has his van ready to go and we know that the voltage drops from 14.4/14.6 to 13.2/4 after about 5 minutes and never comes back up. HIs starter battery is showing a red light (meaning it's not sufficiently charged) and the Anderson plugs we've run to the back of the ute aren't getting peak current to them (as I know a PX2 puts out 14.6).

I've come here to ask, simply, if the PX3 (2020) XLT still has Smart Charge or Dual Battery Mode that needs to be and can be switched on (or off depending on which term is used) in order to charge rear batteries / the caravan? If the answer is yes, can someone direct me to somewhere in Victoria (not the south east suburbs) that can help?

TIA.

Oz

Many here that can assist you directly with your request. Saeb is the number 1 man to point you in the right direction. Btw your ford dealer can and should do this for zero bucks as part of a service if you request it.

Yes, smart charge can be disabled or using the Ford terminology, Enable dual battery mode.
Some dealers will do it, others won't
How far away is Seaford from you?
What amperage wire did you run the the Anderson plug?
