New features coming to Forscan

I have been talking with the Forscan team again.

In coming updates I will be giving them existing and new features for implementation into Forscan.

You will not need to do the asbuilt edits as they will be selective options. Fuel economy gauge etc etc. Basically all the options past and present for our vehicles. As I update my database they will put the updates in Forscan.

This will neglect the need for me to list different hex for different vehicle whether they be Ranger, Everest, Thai or SA built etc. You can always read the changes to Forscan on the download page so stay tuned for easy editing in the future.

Rgds

The most common IPC changes have now been submitted to Forscan and will work on BCM changes for them in coming weeks.

This should make everyone's life a little easier.

I have received a test copy of Forscan with my submitted changes.

I will test each one of these tomorrow afternoon and also confirm naming, wording etc.

This will work for Rangers and Everests,Thai, SA and should also apply to xl, xls etc. although may not give the desires results if the vehicle does not support it.

Basically it is a safe way to change your features and they will be changed at the bit level so will not effect other unknown features. The work load to enter new and existing codes online and answer questions about how to do so takes up a lot of time so having them all in Forscan will free some of that up for other projects.

They have taken my data and naming conventions and have made some changes to the software to import my changes very quickly.

Remember this is a start and the BCM and numerous other models will follow. The IPC at a minimum should be in the next release.

Absolutely brilliant stuff Stewart! Must be very satisfying for you as well to see all your efforts being accepted and put to use directly into Forscan.

Perhaps just as a comment. Some of the direct changes (non asbuilt) within Forscan are not very clear or intuitive. In other words one is not always clear as to what the change option would actually do. For example, last time I was playing I noticed an option for Climate Menu which was shown as 'Disabled', yet I have a climate menu on both the 8" screen as well as the 4" one... what would 'enabling' do in this case? There are others as well which I'm not sure of. Would there be some way, perhaps in the future, of a brief description of what to expect for some, if not all of these options being added to Forscan?

Just a thought mate... luv ya work. :)

Hi Gerry, it is satisfying and will take a bit of workload off me for other projects which is nice.

Climate menu would have been for remote start. I will ask them to change it and our IPC does not support the menu anyway.

I will put forth for better descriptions but I'm in there hands on that part but if members want to put forward naming convention changes or features they want added then I will try and get them out over the weekend.

I will hopefully get some BCM changes done over the weekend.

Can you do me a favour and text me a pic of non asbuilt for the Sync3 APIM or if another member can post up. Please be using the lastest version of Forscan as I will put some changes forward for that too.

I have made some revisions of my own and asked for some of their items to be removed or renamed. We had a 98% hit rate first go and the 2% was my fault... it happens.

Looking at the change logs every 60 days. Next release would be around 25th of September and if you wait I should have a ton more settings that I would have put forward.

This will be the final list for the IPC at this stage, couple of tidy up but 99% working. Naming convention should work out as Forscan lists in alphabetical order. There are hundreds more functions but they will only get people into trouble so they will be left out at this stage.

We will not get full instructions for line so I have had them add my own notes, so it hopefully makes it a little clearer.

If you want something else tell me. I'm currently going through the BCM and will put a list up when done.

I may require an XL or XLS user to do some tests with a pre-release so I can amend what will work with the cluster.

Remote start will probably be taken out as our clusters do not have the menu, the Mondeo firmware I flashed did show them though.

Do you think Forscan lite will be able to make these changes?

Only IPC in this release. Unfortunately I do not own their time frame so everything is based on when they can implement it.

The IPC list is now firm and will not change from the coming release. They will look at implementing the BCM changes in the following release so best I get that one ready.

I no longer receive PCM DTC's for tyre size but now need to resolve the DTC's for tyre size on the TCM. Anyway back out into the cold and go through the TCM.

Think I will ring the pizza man as it will be a long cold night, feel free to drop some off if you are local.

The 'welcome goodbye backlighting', is this when you open the door in the dark and the screen burns your retina mode?

Sure is Shawn.

Glad to see the back of it. I open my door to a black cluster and black Sync screen now :)

This will be it for now. Tyre sizes may or may not make it.

Still working with them on seeing if we can get rid of all DTC's for Tyre size change.

Release date approx 15 Sept. Image

Awesome work, i've got my eyes firmly on remote start and associated options for these cold mornings !!

In my Everest Titanium (Sync2 2015 model) is it possible to add the offroad angles display from the right display onto the left display so we can get more simultaneous information when offroad ??

So have I. The remote start options have been renamed at my request although they will be of no use on a Ranger or Everest at this point in time. They are staying because I want them to say for now.

No you cannot move gauges from one side to the other.
