Front Parking Sensors Glitch

Morning all,

As the title suggests, I use my front sensors as a guide when pulling into my garage.
I roll in until I get red bars on the screen and then I know I have enough clearance behind me when the garage door is closed to comfortably walk behind (bloody long utes these things).

Anyway I was rolling in this morning and the sensors did not work at all. It was only when I noticed the shoes push up on the wall mounted shoe rack that I stopped. I reversed back about 2 metres and rolled in again and same story no tone, no display pop up, no nothing. I reversed all of the way out of the garage and then rolled back in and again same result.

I checked through the assists on the IPC and noticed that both front and rear park pilot were unchecked and could not be checked however when I select reverse the rear camera activates with its usual lines and colours.

So I then turned the car off, let it sit for 10 mins and then started it up again, rolled out of the garage and back in and what do you know the sensors are working again???
This is the first time that this has happened to me and just wondering if this is a known issue?

Cheers

Jason

Sorry Jason, never had an issue ever.

Keep an eye on it as it could be a one off glitch. Electronics can do weird things at times and the 10 minute set may have been enough to reset the module.

If you can check fault code then check them.

Hi Stewart, had a look at the fault codes in Forscan and nothing there so I don't know. Next time it happens I'll hook up and see if there is anything to see.
Also while I have your attention, I have been searching for DTE fixes, I have changed tyre size to 977 for 285/70/17 and doing some research I thought there was also a change for PCM config 7E01-01-01 that I read in another post

Mine is 7E01-01-01-XXXX-5C30-0075
Other is 7E01-01-01 xxxx-6298-xxxx

When i try to write that change I get a checksum error?

The reason I ask is my low fuel came on and when I pulled up at the servo to fuel up I had 32km to empty yet I was only able to put in 68L so there was still 12L in the tank. my speedo is spot so (ie no error between gps and speedo) there must be another change I need and I thought the PCM was it.

Thanks for your time

Jason

PCM change is not your issue.

You will always get a checksum error unless you enter the correct checksum. Read the box carefully. Press ok and let it calculate and write for you. Backup first!

Your speedo is 4% out, there are tons of threads on it. Your speedo should be reading 104 if you are really doing 100 GPS. You will never get everything perfect, max change in 0977 unfortunately, so we cannot move it the further 4% to make everything 100% perfect. It may be the 4% being the issue or it could be that your float is slightly bent different to some others.

Pretty sure most users report it will go into minus a fair way from stock anyway and it will never read 0 DTE and = no fuel in the tank. It's about a 60km fudge factor you have there so maybe some other users with stock tank etc. can give some feedback on their readings and refill amount.

People, give some numbers please. This is not about lph either.

Hi Stewart,

OK thanks for the DTE info

OK, so this afternoon my car threw a bunch of errors at me.

Park Assist not functioning - check manual
Hill start assist not functioning
The Park Assist Button on console had a yellow line illuminate
There was spanner appear on the dash
Take car in for service notification appeared
A top view picture of the ute with a red exclamation mark appeared on the Sync 3 screen and would appear when trying to accelerate
The transmission felt weird when driving.

This all cleared once I shut down and then restarted and seemed to drive normal after that with no more faults.

Now that I have got home and hooked forscan up there was a bunch of error codes, I have saved all of the faults as a txt file, I have also done a save with the current config from start up.

As yet I have not reset any of the fault codes.

This config has been running for around 3 months with the last change being the tyre size up to 977 and has been stable since then, I plugged in yesterday after the parking sensor glitch and then today in relation to the above post.

Only other thing I have done is plug the OBD adaptor into the black port up behind the white one to keep in permanently

If you have any insight into this mate it would be a help otherwise it maybe a trip to the dealership.

Jason

Hi guys,
Did you ever figure out what causes these issues?
My Everest does the same thing with my OBDlink MX+ plugegd into the rear port, throws a hissy fit every few drives with the same sort of errors, steering is also noticebaly heavier and was applying the brakes at low speed. The wife said she couldnt get it out of park one day too.

I used to have a cheap generic adapter in the front port (because it wouldnt fit in the rear) and never had these issues (other than a flat battery once which I can only put down to the adapter). Yet to try the MX+ in the front port.

Front port is linked to the bac port so should not make any difference. You symptoms sound like very low battery state of charge.

Best to email manufacture if you believe the device keeps draining the battery.
