On the instrument cluster, no. They can be shown on an external device eg. Ultragauge, Scangauge, OBDlink, Torque etc.

I was also wondering about the same; I had a rental Ford Expedition Ecoboost for a week during a work trip in Arizona in Oct last year which had a gear indicator next to the fuel gauge in Drive. This is just visible on the LH LCD visible just over the steering wheel in the piccie - my photo was aimed at the Sync3 system and I never took good piccies of the instruments and its menu. The car did not have lane detection (well none of the tech pack features in the PXII nor navigation), so there were space on the LCD for the gear indicator.

I must add that thing has GRUNT with its V6 Ecoboost engine, it goes like clappers and can squeal the tyres (RWD) fairly easily as all rentals do lol, even with that massive body. It is a big car, the third row seats were even more comfy than the middle row, whilst we also had 4 people's luggage in the rear. Very thirsty when heavy footed, but remarkably economical when cruising for its size.

It is not an option in our IPC firmware. I did have a look for some Explorer firmware but came up empty handed after a few hours so time best spent elsewhere. Even if I could find it the problem lies with the graphics being designed for a LHD so I would be back to the same issue I had with the Mondeo firmware I flashed.

I kinda know the answer but worth a shot asking anyway:

Is there a change that will show the selected gear when the auto box is in drive or sport modes, factory config shows it only in manual mode.

Nope, it is in the firmware and is not an asbuilt feature option.

I have merge these 2 separate topics.

Funny how we asked the same question within days of each other! :-)

I happened to notice today if you go to manual mode while the right hand screen is busy , ie displaying the sear belt grid, the gear indicators are on the bottom line of the displ. Then when the screen goes to the rev counter they migrate to next to the dial. Can they be moved down permanently when in sports mode?

Hi Gordo,

I know what you mean but there is no asbuilt option for this and it appears to be in the firmware so cannot be changed.

Only option is for if select shift is installed or not installed. It is enabled by default.
