Forscan Dongle Type: OBDlink MX Black Bluetooth

Hi Guys,
Got my 19.75 Everest the other week (YAY), and had to fly away for work the day after so I cant confirm anything myself so had to ask here.
I had a Prado and have a OBDLINK MX bluetooth (not the +). see photo my wife sent me below.

Is this dongle okay to use to get forscan working its best on my laptop with windows 10 etc? want to change a few settings but Im a bit worried I dont have the MX+ that is always mentioned. Sorry for something that may have been repeated but I am at a remote location and my internet is garbage.

I hope this is one of the best dongles to use and i dont need to shell some more $$ at a new one.
Cheers

Hi.
If you just want to do changes and not monitor then the dongle available from this site is the way to go
wp/product/forscan-usb-dongle-windows-10-support/

This is the MX +, it works with Android & iOS

This is the MX in your pic, it only works with Android
http://www.obdlink.com/mxbt/

They are both fine with W10 & Forscan, but if you are not going to monitor, the dongle from this site is the better value, just plug it in & go.

Sorry, im not sure that is a definitive answer to my question, no offence, you have just linked some product pages (which is fine).

I already own the MX. and ios support does not worry me, so i have no need to spend another $65 on the dongle sold here no? I realise it is cheaper than the MX but I already possess one from my last vehicle.

I guess I am just trying to determine if i need to spend any more money on another dongle, or the MX i ALREADY own will be fine and provide the exact same function as the $65 product you linked as 'better value' (for someone who has not purchased a dongle yet I assume). I think your last sentence is telling me I will be fine with the hardware I currently own... But I just want to make certain.

I dont care about monitoring as I plan to use my Ultragauge MX for that (also from my old car)

The MX you have will do what you want, no worries.

I didn't realise you already had it.
