Replacement px2 reverse camera

G'day
I've had an issue with my 2nd hand px2 rangers reverse camera not working. It's been giving me the "camera not working see your dealer" message since day 1. The dealer i bought it off (not a ford dealer) will replace it no charge but being that it's a tray back and not a tub back they want to use an aftermarket system that would require a second screen somewhere on the dash. Yuk.
I've bought a supposedly universal replacement camera from supercheap that runs on rca plugs. however the ranger from what i can tell doesnt support this. Is there a way to tap in to the original genuine ford cameras lines? im having issues finding any sort of information about that or plug in splitters that add an rca input. As far as i can tell, the lines from the camera the tray manufacturer installed to replace the factory camera are not going to the head unit (at least not clearly visable). they run up inside the chassis rail but i cant find them after that.
Can i make this work, and how?
interestingly i found this plug loose in behind the unit with no where to plug into.
