Hi All,
Looking to install a Brown Davis Long Range Fuel Tank, and there is some discussion about using ForScan to adjust the Fuel Tank Size? Is there someone in Adelaide who is able to do this. Able to pay for time and effort.

Cheers
Troy

I live in the Northern suburbs if that's any help?

Why a Brown & Davis?

Dearer & heavier than ARB and steel can be prone to leaking.

Hi RossPat
Checked the ARB site, not sure their ARB Frontier polymer tank fits the Everest. Seems only options are Long Range Automotive and Brown Davis, and both are steel. Brown Davis does not lose any ground clearance, unlike the Long Range Automotive.

I am assuming Forscan will work on the Everest pretty much the same way as it does with the Ranger. :-)

Hi.
Have a 2014 Ford RANGER XL.
It came with a 122L long range tank(Longranger) but the DTE is all screwed up and frustrating me. I believe this can be altered with and ob11 scanner and FORSCAN.
I have purchased the scanner and downloaded FORSCAN but have no idea where in FORSCAN to make the alterations. Can some please provide me information on how to do this.
Thanks all in advance

Have you licenced your version of Forscan?
You can apply for a free licence that expires after a short time or purchase one for a set time.
Without a licensed version you will not see all the modules.
Without knowing what scanner you have that may be an issue, not all scanners see all modules.
Another way would be to get it done for you, plus you could get other changes done at the same time.
Stewart lives in Seaford and if you aren't too far away I am sure he will help you.
Send him a PM.

But you say it is a 2014 which is PX1, on a PX1 the tank size cannot be altered.

How to for any PX1 vehicle with Forscan is here, changes are very limited. > viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1213 <

Ok, guess i have been mislead, i read somewhere you could with forscan which is why i went and got a scanner. What useful things can i do/change with forscan on my 2014 Ranger XL then so i haven't wasted my money haha

Found a section where i was able to increase the 80L to 108L which was the highest i could select but atleast it closer. Not sure if its altered DTE at all though. It didn't change initally but the strange thing is if i disconnect my battery and reconnect it then all of a sudden it seems to add another like 200km to the DTE

Well done, better than nothing.

Disconnecting battery will erase long term fuel memory so it will always show higher until it relearns.

If anything, have Forscan will at least give you the ability to diagnose your vehicle if things go wrong, it is invaluable in that respect.

I got an ARB frontier installed. Set DTE to 140L. Ran out of fuel with 1/8th tank and 85kms on the DTE.

I believe accuracy may differ, it depends on how much the float arm was bent when installed.
A degree or two will make a difference.

You'd think it'd be a lot closer, given it shows you how to bend it and how far in the installation guide. ARB should at least follow their own procedures. But we all know how that works

It’s An ARB dealer. He said the tank came with a new sender. I don’t believe that. I think maybe they are trying to deflect.

He also said it’s a different tank because I had bash plates. Not sure on this statement.

I had my tank fitted by ARB and (I assume) the most of us that have the frontier tank don't have bash plates on it. ARB told me that they will bend the float and there isn't a new replacement float to go with it. Much like Brente1982 said, they need to follow the instructions they have.

With my tank it shows empty when I still have about 8L in the tank. Obviously mine isn't bent enough, but yours may be bent too much?

I will say they did not bend it at all. I bent mine 2mm over the recommended and have 4 litres left at zero DTE.

As above there is no replacement float arm.
