Forscan USB Dongles have landed

These may or may not be a once off.

AUD$ and high cost of postage with Auspost and having stock sitting does not really make sense.

I test each one on my own vehicle before it leaves, up to date drivers etc will be supplied by a download link.

Cheapest way to get into programming with full access to all modules, fast and stable programming unlike the wireless dongles.

Windows 8 or earlier supported. I have have no luck with Windows 10 unfortunately so there will be no support.

I have 20 units of which the low margins will go into keeping these forums alive.

Purchase here, you should be logged in automagically wp/product/forscan-usb-dongle/

Is there any interest in dongles with re worked PCBs that will hopefully then support Windows 10? There would be additional cost.

I will buy a reworked dongle that is compatible with Windows 10.

Hmmm, I bought one a while ago... now I know why I couldn't get it to work on my Win10 laptop! Can it be fixed/updated easily Stewart? Sorry to hijack this thread - just a yes or no mate. :?

I'm going to try replacing an IC on the board. Not easy as the legs are so small.

Anyway I have managed to remove one without breaking anything so that is a bonus and have just done an order from the Netherlands from some parts. I search for an hour for somewhere that was not going to charge $50+ for delivery of 10 IC's and it happened to be there.

Gerry, time will tell if this allows them to work with Windows 10 but I'm keen to give it a try. Estimated delivery is 5th of November, so once received I will break out the massive magnifying glass I have at work and let you know the outcome. If all goes to plan I will do a batch of 10.

It's not something that can be programmed anyway.

Stay tuned.

Just remember I wrote "PCBs that will hopefully then support Windows 10". I will not know if it 100% works with Windows 10 until I get some parts swapped out and test.

Just waiting on components to arrive.

I sent our on the 11/12/2018. You selected standard express post so allow 7 days although I assuming Christmas postage is slowing things up.

In the order complete email you would have received your tracking number of https://auspost.com.au/mypost/track/#/d ... 0140624092 and estimated delivery is showing as 19/12/2018.

Hi Stewart, the Dongle arrived today thanks.
seems to get so far with the program and then stops with a error message saying " Battery voltage low 11.1v expect 11.6v , is this a fault or do i need to run the car for a bit to charge up the battery?

Hi there.
Maybe check this out viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2086

There is a link there to download a version of Forscan that will fix the issue.

I have a Ford Ranger PX MK2 and the parkers aren't DRL which I'm coming to find out isn't a default feature as I thought it was on them. I just ordered the dongle for windows 10 and was hoping to activate it after reading the forums. But I was just curious (it's a bit late now) but did I need the DRL pin kits to do this? Since I figured the parkers would already be wired into the BCM.

You only need the pin kit to wire additional dedicated lights so you should be fine.

Also is there any difference between the forscan dongle and a obdlink? apart from being able to use it on phones and wireless? Can you still achieve all the same results with just the dongle?

The only difference I am aware of is that you can monitor many functions with an OBDLink dongle via a tablet or phone but other than that, they do the same things.

Please forgive my noobness. I ordered an OBII ELM327 (arrived today) with a switch, before I found this sight. Im confused about a few things, I noticed the spread sheet is gone and you use a quick function(Enable/Disable) now. Is this something that you programmed through your Dongle that you sale or an extra program to purchase and download for Forscan? Are the features ,for the simple on/off, something that is standard in Forscan? I have Activated my Forscan Account already, but I have not plugged it into the unit. Im trying to learn as much as possible before doing so. If have to purchase the device, will you ship to the Philippines?
