Up to you mate. If you want me to run both procedures and see if it clears, I can do.

Hi Stewart thank you continuing to figure this out.
I know You have plenty of projects that I am sure are of more interest to you.

Thanks,

All good Tony, if I see one at some point with the problem I will run both procedures and see what comes of it.

saeb wrote: Thu Sep 07, 2017 10:10 pm Speaking with a tech today and it more then certain when the module was installed the programming was not fully completed. There are 2 steps that need to be run and most only do 1.

I will look to get the possible additional step enabled in Forscan but if anyone local wants it cleared then we can test first.
Any further progress on having TRM install procedures added to Forscan yet Saeb?

I get the same u2100 code, had it from new. thought it was I didn't have a trailer connected or something.

I also get the same two DTC errors and thought it was due to trailer not being connected. Spoke to my local Ford dealer and was palmed off saying it was nothing. They couldn't find any significant DTC.... I mentioned the idea about configuration/programming might not have been setup properly. This fell on deaf ears.
I am really interested in solving this issue. If sending through my TRM setting is of benefit please let me know.

thanks

Craig

No need for asbuilt data as there is no asbuilt data. Notice its all zero's?

I will see if I can get the procedures added into the next release, it will depend on when, how, what, where etc. they are up to but it will be added.

Many thanks.

I don't believe they have added it yet. I'm waiting as you are.

I can confirm that in IDS when adding the module it makes changes in about 4 modules. I will follow up but if they have other priorities first then that is what they do. Will advise as soon as they give a test version with it enabled.

Replay is that I should have a test version sooner than later.

Looking through Ford IDS again last night shows me that changes are made in the TRM, BCM, IPC and PAM.

Happy to test Stewart, as I have what looks like a semi configured one from Ford.

All I can say is it is on the list. I expected it too be done but I don't control their timeline. If I get a chance over the next week or 2 I will give the changes for all the modules it effects so they can be changed manually.

viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1512 check what your current changes are. This may or may not remove the error.

I still have no word on Forscan, I will suss it out once again this week.

Hi All

Had some to play today and have found some progress. The "initial configuration is not complete", I believe it is caused by the configuration being all zeros. I have been able to solve that part of the equitation by just adding a 1 to the trm module in the as built.

original TRM module asbuilt config with DTC present

Code: Select all

790-01-01 0000 9A
790-02-01 00 9B
790-03-01 00 9C
Modified TRM module asbuilt No DTC present

Code: Select all

790-01-01 0001 9B
790-02-01 00 9B
790-03-01 00 9C
so the only change 790-01-01 0001 9B

Now i cleared trouble codes and it hasn't returned. I put trm module asbuilt back to all 0000's and the fault code returned. Could it be that simple ???.

Now the disclaimer i have no idea what impact have a 1 in the trailer asbuilt configuration will do. (as my asbuilt came with all zero's from the factory) but i'll try it for few days and let you know

Unfortunately i still have the DDM and the PDM codes (rear door light open or short circuit). I'm working on this next.

2017 Everest trend had these codes from day 1 from the factory. Have used IDS to configure tow pack and still have same issue. I have checked my asbuilt for the other modules and it reflects the below.

IPC
Change: 720-03-02 to xx4x xxxx ( Add Trailer Sway to Menu )

BdyCM
Change: 726-27-02 xxxx x1xx 01xx ( Trailer lighting fault )
726-49-01 xxxx xxx1 xxxx ( Trailer Module Installed )

PAM
Change: 736-01-01 to xxxD xxxx xx

You would be the only Everest Ranger with something entered into the asbuilt anywhere.

I will list out the contents of the TRM next week so you know what your additions are changing.

If it has removed the DTC then that still is a positive. Well done.

Yes my Everest was all zeros from dealer and my current asbuilt on motorcraft doesn't even have trm module. I have noticed that if i make a change to any of my asbuilt config, the Everest updates over the air via the wifi and updates the motorcraft asbuilt (only for APIM) after a period of time. "big brother"

Cheers

Sync must be pulling data back from every module.

Gerry mentioned and he could be right after all. One thing is if they can read it then it's possible they can write to it. I can only see asbuilt changes happening though as a dodgy firmware update could kill the car.

I might check my full asbuilt online next week and see if the same has happened.

Get the word around and I'm sure someone will want to lodge a class action over privacy issues.

I would say you could safely change 791-02-01 to 019C
This will enable Trailer Perimeter Alarm. I have never tested this, it's possible the alarm may sound if the trailer is unplugged?
