To get started I would plug the USB dongle into the laptop and OBD port

Start pc and when it is running turn ignition on,don't start the engine.

Now start Forscan and see that it all connects up.

If it all connects up that's good.

If it doesn't you will need to sort that out.

Once you know it all connects we can make a time call you and help you through the rest & do one mod to get you started.

Once it is all running just turn ignition off, turn pc off and disconnect the dongle.

NeilP, I feel your pain.
Would also like to see a list of acronym expansions so I could follow instructions in English as a sticky for us/me less techy guys. Think it would make this site less daunting for the newbies, volunteers any body?

You mean like this viewtopic.php?f=12&t=14

All of the mods mentioned by Neil are easy to do, all that is required is to select the mod, edit and write.

Thanks to Stewart's work the days of having to manually write codes are getting less, it has taken him many, many hours to do it.

Of course some mods still have to be done by editing numbers but are getting fewer.

Help is always close by.

I'm a 70yo newbie, I figured it out.

Yes, I believe when you join you will not have access to parts of the forum until you make a post.

I think that info will be in the email you received.

Thank you Steward for a very prompt service in delivering my dongle and instructions and a big thank you to Ross Pat.
After a few text messages and phone calls to arrange a good time for both Ross talked me through the basics to change my fuel tank cap , duel battery mode and to silence the door open chimes.
This was my first time doing and was a bit hesitant but Ross was confident with the process and it worked without a glitch.
I feel just getting some one to show/explain for the first time was great.
If any one wants some help I am happy to show what I was showen to get you started but getting help from more experienced people would be better until I get more experience.
One last thing I did buy a dongle off Ebay and it didn’t work so I brought one from here with instruction and it WORKED they are tested by Steward before postage and yes I made a small donation and it was worth every penny.
Thanks again Steward & Ross

Cheers Neil

Gday gang,

I've just purchased my second Wildtrak. I had a PX2 and now have a PX3. I'm looking to complete the same mods on my PX3 as I had on the PX2 which has already been discussed in many posts;

Door chimes
Long range fuel tank 140ltr
Dual battery mode
Enable climate control on instrument panel

Ford said they wont enable dual battery mod in my PX3 which they did do in my PX2, so if anyone has done it using Forscan it would be great to hear from you.

Just use Forscan and do it. Each item you list has been tested and done.
