brought a 2017 Xlt last year and now just brought a Elm 327 OBD2 Diagnostic Scanner, just trying to learn how to set up and drive it, any tips would be helpful

Have a read of the forums but you will need one of these wp/product/forscan-usb-dongle/ or an OBDlink to see all the modules in your vehicle.
