Vehicles Equipped with a 3.2L Engine and 6R80 Transmission – Engine Speed Hunting Between 500 and 800 RPM at Normal Engine Temperature when Coasting to a Complete Stop

Issue: Certain 2015 Everest and PX Ranger MkII vehicles equipped with a 3.2L engine and 6R80 Transmission may experience the engine speed hunting between 500 and 800 RPM with the engine at normal operating temperature when coasting to a complete stop. This is an intermittent concern.

Action: Should a vehicle present with the above concern, technicians are advised to follow the Service Instruction below

Service Instruction

1. Connect IDS to the vehicle.

2. Reprogram the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to the latest service calibration using IDS release 101.02 or higher. Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest updates. Calibration files may also be obtained from the Professional Technicians Society website – Select Rotunda - Diagnostic Tool Support - IDS Support - Module Reprogramming.

3. After re-programming is complete, evaluate the vehicle to ensure correct operation.
