Over the coming months I will put a tutorial up on how to add remote windows using genuine Ford Modules to your Ranger or base model Everest.

As I can get hold of other modules at the right price the install will also be added to this section.

Not as far as I'm aware. Maybe I should have just said Ford modules. I would steer clear of any aftermarket modules even if they were available. I want my car to brake when I ask it too.

Will the remote windows just be the addition of the Everest modules and programming with Forscan or will extra wiring be needed. Just wondering if I will be able to do it myself.

Cheers,
Bill

Hi Bill,

It will be, but it is not a straight swap over.

The job is bigger than Ben Hur. I was to start it today ( as I plan to spend about 3 days from start to finish ) but the cold is plain cold and my body does not like it. I will book myself in for Sept holidays when the weather warms up out doors.

Once 100% completed I will give the low down on hours spent and how far I had to go with changes and additional wiring.

Remote Windows,
Do you guys mean being able to put the windows up automatically when you press the lock button on the key ?

All we have to do is figure out if an ODBII command is sent for
1) when a window is closed
2) when the remote lock key is pressed

If the CAN does have as command / Notification for these events, then it is easy to micmic an automatic function without using Ford modules.

If the electric windows do not have a CAN interface, then yes we will need the Ford modules.

Anyone know ?

You will require the DDM and PDM module from an Everest, Modeo etc. You will need to replace the door regulators. Door loom and and and...... I have a box of everything ready to go but ideally need the vehicle off the road for 3 days. There is still a lot of wiring and programming to do even if you have these parts.
