I've been reading on how to remove the existing unit out of my now ancient 2017 Wildtrac in order to upgrade to Sync 3 and got very worried, it seemed to be a huge undertaking so I thought I'd go the other way and simplyn download a "pirate" version.
This was provided by Cynlabs as a download. To copy thos I purchased a new 16 Gigga Byte thumb drive.
Once the download was finished - this took well over an hour- it was wiuth trepidation that I did the upgrade inn my Wildtrak. Initially the vision of new Mustangs and Rangers floating on my screen worried the proverbial out of me but on start-up they went and a whole new screen appeared and so far I've had no issues, some new features such as the seat heaters being on the touch screen are new, as are the upgraded maps ( even the Sydney Western Distributor Tunnel ) and on looking at the general screen this is the information:-

SYNC3 SOFTWARE VERSION 3.4
BUILD 22251_PRODUCT
FORD MOTOR COMPANY

SYNC MAC ADDRESSES SYSTEM UPDATES: 90:70:65:E6:D6:31
BLUETOOTH 90:70:65:E6:d6:31
VIN - ( THIS IS MY VIN NUMBER )
GRACENOTE tm VERSION 1.1.1.2325 (GL-0011)
NAVIGATION VERSION ANZ 2 21

As I said so far I've not noticed any "bugs"and the update said it was completed and would operate the next time the car was started, which it did -- if I have any issues I'll let you know. Incidentally the Cynlabd download is free, just ignore the request / offer to download the "Driver Support" -- you dont need it if you have Norton or any other similar anti-viral protection program.

Excuse all the typos, my two sore typing fingers from playing with my autobox are the cause.

I'm going to give this a go tomorrow while heading to work.

I updated to 3.4 Build 22200 via the Ford site the other week and since then have had random Bluetooth drop outs so hopefully this might fix it.

Cyan is saying the latest is 3.4.23088.

I had been running 3.4.21265 for a while without problems, and recently updated to 3.4.23188 for the 2022 maps. Seems good so far. No obvious bugs.
