ScanGauge codes and values

G'day All

OK, this may be a big ask but I'm hoping to pick some collective brains here!! Im the very happy new owner of a MY19.75 PxIII XLT 3.2, upgraded with the Adventure X Tickford pack... generally will be short weekends away and towing my other pride and joy, a 6.2m Chivers Thresher.. :D
I also have fitted a new ScanGauge II and was wanting to know;

What gauges are most of you monitoring / recommending (I've currently got water temp, EGT, auto trans temp and inlet air temp)

Is there a code for oil temp (engine)

Is there a list of what I would call "caution/warning values" (wearing my airline pilot hat) that would describe when things are getting too hot/high/lo pressure etc? Obviously I'm monitoring and starting to get an idea of what appears to be "normal" but it would be good to find some manufacturers figures.

Engine, Transmission, EGT, set alarm if possible with a Scangauge. There is no oil temp sensor.

Like any vehicle, monitor what is normal over a period and you will soon know what is not normal. At engine and trans temps 110 plus you will soon see that the PCM will pull torque and possibly be on the edge of limp home mode.

Cheers Stuart, much appreciated. Seems like the trans temp seems to sit just on/under 100...im assuming thats a modulated/regulated temp?

Mine used to sit at 87 Engine temp and 97 trans temp
Not towing
Towing 3,2 ton van it engine temp was 91 c and trans temp was up to 105 c
I fitted a after market trans cooler ,now the trans is 88 c towing

Engine temp still site at 92 c
But going up very steep ranges it gets as hit as 103 c
I using torque pro app on my my indash android head unit

Hi All / Stewart

Trans Temp PIDs. I had for a long time used PID: 0105. More recently have been using the PID: 221e1c as per the calc on this site.

I'm interested in knowing where these two sensors are? They are both valid and return values just very different readings when compared side by side. If I was to guess then I'd say the 221e1c is actual Auto Transmission temp and the 0105 is ATF?

Trying to obtain some accurate data. Thanks guys

PID 01 05 is a standard OBD II PID and is engine coolant temperature.

22 is manufacturer specific PID and 1E1C is the PID.

Basically my calc for 1E1C is correct for ATF and there is only one sensor.
