Came across your site from newranger.net
Hopefully picking up a '15 PX2 XLS in a week or so and looking to get straight into a few modifications.

Looking forward to reading the contributions made here as well.

Cheers

Update to this post: bought the car around October 2019 and am FINALLY getting around to doing a few little things.

The car came with an XLT tub with chrome sports bar fitted from new which was nice. I bought an FX4 black sports bar on eBay for $1 and fitted that which looks a lot better.

I do a fair bit of camping with the fam in our camper trailer so fitted a Redarc TowPro Elite brake controller. Nice and neat little unit with only an extra knob down near the gear shifter to control the thing.

Decided the other day to look at upgrading the factory entertainment unit to something with a bigger screen (with CarPlay) than the little 4" factory Sync 1 screen. My options are to get an aftermarket unit with the appropriate shrouds and adaptors etc, or just transplant a Sync 3 unit from an XLT or something into it. Costs appear to be pretty similar.

I changed out my XLS cluster to one from a Wildtrak (I think) and that provided my first forte into Forscan and the world of As Built/Programming. I love this kind of customising so hopefully I can contribute to the good work that's been done by Stewart and others on this site.

The next upgrade besides the stereo will likely be a set of all-terrain tyres (probably on black Wildtrak rims), have seen a few pairs go for around $1200 with the Monsta Terrain Gripper tyres fitted basically in brand new condition. Any thoughts on those good or bad?

After that I might so some cosmetic work to the body, fit some flares and maybe rock sliders. Maybe one of those bull bars that don't have the headlight loop (Revel brand I think?). Then some XLT headlights with LED bulbs.

I was tossing up between spending the extra and getting an XLT or Wildtrak when I was looking at cars last year but figured if I get the XLS, I can customise it to my liking with different parts from XLTs/FX4s/Wildtraks etc. Half the fun is trying to get stuff working that was never meant to be fitted to the car you've got.

Cheers

Hi mate, I’m about to put an XLT/Wildtrak instrument cluster in my XLS, is there anything I need to know? Was it straight plug and play? Thanks heaps for any info you can give!
