2015-2017 Vehicles Equipped with a 2.2L or 3.2L Engine - Loss of Power and Illuminated Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) with Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) P2562 and/or P2563 17-2233

Engine: 3.2L PUMA
Issue: Certain 2015 - 2017 Ranger and Everest/Endeavour Vehicles Equipped with a 2.2L or 3.2L engine may experience a loss of power followed by an Illuminated MIL with DTC P2562 and/or P2563 present.
Action: Should a vehicle present with this concern, technicians are advised to follow the Service Procedure below.

Service Procedure
1. Connect the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) to the vehicle.
2. Reprogram the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to the latest service calibration using IDS release 107.06 or higher. Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest updates. Calibration files may also be obtained from the Professional Technicians Society website – Select Rotunda - Diagnostic Tool Support - IDS Support - Module Reprogramming.
3. After re-programming is complete, evaluate the vehicle to ensure correct operation.
