Which dongle?

Hey all,

Very new to all this but keen to learn!

Just trying to figure out which one to get. Down the track I'll use the real time gauges etc but to start with would like to customise my car e.g getting rid of the door chime etc.

I'm not sure if I want to get the one Stewart sells here or get one of the bluetooth OBDline MX ones. Also where is the best place to get one.

Cheers!

I was the same on which way to go.

I wanted phone connect so research lead me to believe a Scantool MX+ bluetooth was a good option but I cant confirm that.

At the time they seemed to be about $180 and then I found them on Amazon Australia for $129.95 delivered so ordered on and it came quickly.

So far it connected to my ranger easily and gave me gauges on a base model samsung phone. I havent done anything other than have a look around the OBDlink app and the standard gauges.

It also connected and recongnised a friends 2006 Saab.

They will both work. If you want to run phones or tablet, the bluetooth is probably easier. However, the usb one from the shop here works a lot faster and reliably with Forscan.

Or you could get greedy like me and have one of each. ;)

Thanks guys! I had a bit of a look around and Amazon was where I was thinking.

Yeah I'm thinking I'll eventually get both 😀
