Ok so now I've got it connected. Tried again and it worked after that for some reason. However it's not showing all modules like in the px2 how to (mines a PX3) but shouldnt make much difference. Maybe I'll try update my firmware on my mx dongle? Had a look at my obdlink app and apparently it's up to date. Maybe my dongles to old to see it all. It's a black WiFi version. (all I've read about is a red version)

If you are running Windows 7 or 10 you can buy a USB Dongle from this site that is guaranteed to work.

I believe the WIFI dongle doesn't see all the modules.

What will see all modules is a Black OBDLink MX Bluetooth or a Black OBDLink MX + Bluetooth.

Thanks for the reply. I don't even know if my computer has Bluetooth. As it's an old junk laptop I got free with an internet deal or something, lol. I only ever use it for car stuff. I'll have to see. It's a shame the wifi doesn't see all the modules, I wonder why that would be?

To be clear. The dongles I sell will work from xp onwards.

Obdlink wifi will see all modules.
ELM327 wifi I doubt will and I would not use it.
I would not use anything with a manual switch as they are elm327 based and are slooowwww.

My dongle are compatible with elm327 commands so may be able to be used with other software on other vehicles, although I have never tried.

Black version is not an MX wifi. An MX is Red and only came in red. Bluetooth is the only version that cam in black.

Feel free to post pictures of what you have and we can advise. Also make sure you are using the latest version of Forscan to suit PX3.

Thanks for the reply, How do I post pictures? Mine is 100% a black WiFi unit. I'd love to get this one going as I obviously already have the dongle. I believe it's all up to date but I'll check

Very strange although it appears to be working properly.

What other modules are you looking for, or are you saying there is no non as-built items listed?

If it is the non as-built items, please check you are using the latest version of Forscan as they should be in the current version that was released last week.

I believe mines an original obdlink dongle. Maybe that's why it's black? So you've never seen a black WiFi one before?

Oh I figured I was missing items as I was going by your post for the PX2 and it said if you didn't have them all something is wrong. I was looking for the non as built ones, the ones for the chimes, climate etc.

If one was released last week I mustn't have the latest so I'll double check and try again. Good to know that hopefully it isn't a dongle problem.

Thanks for your help, appreciated

Cool just updated my forscan and had a play, can see all the modules now as far as I'm aware. Thanks for your help. Now to read up on what I can fiddle with.

I think first things first will be the auto stop start, door chimes, try and get rid of the horn warning with the engine running and key in pocket etc. Fun fun

Still never seen a black one, had mine for 3 years. I would say there was either shortage of red cases at the time or a factory assembly error.

Good to see it is now sorted.

I bought mine through kickstarter quite some time ago. So maybe that's why. Maybe I got to pick my colour.
Yes very happy to have it all working. Did the climate already.

Is there a way to get rid of the door chime and door horn in the new PX3 couldn't see it specifically.

Also I think I'd like to get rid of the auto stop start for the PX3 bi turbo. I see the menu in the non as built ipc but can't see it in the other menu.

For door horn try disabling the double lock horn option in the BCM non asbuilt, I cannot remember what I called it now but it is something like that.

Door chime is in the non asbuilt IPC and is Chimes while vehicle running from memory.

Start stop should also be listed in the BCM non asbuilt, I have had someone else turn it off so it must be there. If not flick me pic of you BCM non asbuilt screen.

Thanks mate, I'm away from the vehicle for a few days, when I have a chance again I'll have another look and if I get stuck I'll give you a message. Thanks again, Cheers

Hi Saeb, so just checking, the OBD MX+ Bluetooth will work on with Forscan on a Windows 10 PC with Bluetooth connection? I assume its better to get the bluetooth, so the laptop can still connect to the internet via WiFi?
Additionally, Bluetooth is still better for Android Phones i assume, as you can have your USB cable connected to Android Auto, while the Bluetooth connects to the Phone, and apparently Torque Pro can show on Sync 3? Then also the Phone can still connect to Mobile Data rather than being blocked by Wifi connections.
Am i right with my assumptions of what i want to do above, that Bluetooth should be better?

I cannot answer as I do not own that version of dongle. Users of the standard Bluetooth have had no issues so I would say you are good to go, yes Bluetooth does have its benefits in that access internet via wifi is easier.

You will not get torque on Sync3, yes it can be done but is not worth the hassle if you want your apps and software up to date. These things get blocked as quick as they are exploited.

For you, by the sounds of it, yes Bluetooth.

I have not tried in the last 6 months but my OBDLink MX Bluetooth stopped connecting to my Windows 10 laptop a while ago (maybe 12 months), probably after a Windows update.

I have had to revert to an older Windows laptop in order to be able to use Forscan.

You are correct, this will be a Windows issue so more diagnostics needed to resolve.
