Unichip

Hi guys, just recently got a unichip with 5 map switch installed onto my 2017 ranger. Just wondering what sort of power/torque everyone else has gotten with their tunes. I got an extra 20kw (bringing the total to 123kw) which seemed a bit low for what it is, however I got 130nm of torque which is noticeable to an extent when overtaking etc.

on unichip's website (https://unichip.com.au/ppfor15415dpf-fo ... dpf-fitted) they seem to have quite significant increase in power and a tad more torque.
Did I get jibbed?

All depends on the dyno used. Mine 2014 XLT was similar to yours (after an ECU retune), 22% increase to 125kW (torque up 142Nm). Some dynos are quite optimistic so can't be compared to others. As long as the same dyno does your "before" and "after" runs, that is all that matters. I test drove 4 Rangers before choosing mine, it was the smoothest of them all and on par with the others in regards to power, so I don't think mine is down on power compared to other Rangers.

Someone on here claims about 240rwkW from their 3.2L with standard internals, I find that very hard to believe. Most likely the dyno they used was very optimistic, that guy never gave a pre-modification dyno readout.

At the wheels those figures are fine. Mine is here > viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1138&hilit=unichip although I have removed it now but also have a shed load more torque than with the Unichip now.

Just make sure you have no further engine calibration updates from Ford or you will be back for a re tune.
