TPMS 6 wheeler Cracked

Good day today.

Have added 2 x genuine TPMS sensors to my trailer and..... They bloody well worked and programmed in after modifications to the BCM.

Bigger news is I have the pressures showing on the Ultragauge. I'm thinking we may be able to get to 8 but I have no more wheels left to try it.

Iam expecting to get an error once I remove the trailer from the car but I will only be enabling these sensors on a road trip and it is quick and easy.

Well done Stewart! Would they work with a caravan do you think? If you can get it to do 8, that would be great and means I could do away with the Tyredog screen when I've got the van in tow.

Good stuff mate! :D

Not sure how far from the vehicle they will work. If you want to measure how far from your tailgate to your caravan wheels I will take the trailer off and move it the same distance from my vehicle and do a reprogram to see if it finds them. 8 I do not know, I will make a change and see if 8 is accepted and do a program. If it is still waiting for more senors after the 6 then I will say yes, will give it a go.

If you give me your measurements before tomorrow arvo I will give it a go when I get home. Just remember you will get a TPMS error on the dash if you drive around with out caravan attached so I only plan on activating mine on trips away with the trailer.

Cost was $55.00 per sensor Trade and another $50 to put both in with a wheel balance.

G'day Stewart,

Ours is a 21' van and the distance from the back of the car to the rearmost axle is almost spot on 6 metres. There's a fair bit of aluminium cladding in the way though, so that might also be an issue - I know a lot of wireless cameras have issues getting through a metal caravan, so this might be a big ask.

Fantastic work. Very interested in this. Do you know if the 6 pressures will display on at scangauge. Not all at once obviously due display limitations.

They certainly will.

Does the Scangauge not have auto paging? Sorry I have never used one.

At least you can have more gauges. I have used my 8 custom gauges now :(

Gerry when you get a spare minute can you send me a screen shot of Forscan with all available PIDs that can be monitored in the APIM. If Sync 3 comes back the same I need you to try something for me.

Basically show me the live data view of every PID in the APIM in table view.

Thanks.

Tested. 6 sensors max Gerry.

Programmed them in at 7.5 meters from vehicle with no problems. 2 sensors on the van is still better than none.

Hi Stewart, when you have time are you able to make public the process for enabling and displaying the extra tyre pressures on the scangauge and ultragauge

Thanks, Steve

I take it the extra two sensors wont be detected via the dash low pressure warning? when removing trailer is it a setting in ultra gauge to disable without reprogramming unit?

cheers

Yep they are detected. I'm using what is already built into the BCM so its factory. In With trailer removed and after about 10 minutes the TPMS light will come on and you just get a reading from UG.

I only enable in BCM and UG when I use the trailer for a trip, locally I do not bother. So on a trip its nice having the info and a five minute to process to enable disable/reprogram before I leave or come home. Not for everyone but there will a quick change option in Forscan for 4 or 6 wheels in the next release so it is a little quicker.
