Hi Gents,

So I've got a few questions, Hoping this will be beneficial to me and all.

1. I've accidentally pressed "reset fuel injector adaptation cylinder 3'
Notice the cars are a bit shaky sitting at the lights. Dont know if this is the cause.
Should I reset all cylinder adaptations?

2.while on the subject, In the List of all available resets, calibrations, lerned values to reset in forscan.
any i should be doing thats benaficial to the car after 60K's?

Thanks in advance.
Iz.

Hello Gent,

I just would like to share that this is a safe procedure to do as it relearns the values as you drive.
Thanks to Steward for answering.

I’d also like to add/ask for some additional information from more experianced users, that I've been trying to wrap my head around.
I was trying to understand what a module reset, update, or calibration file does exactly.

From my conversation with Bing:

Module reset:

After making large or major changes, restart the module clearing the memory.
(like doing a restart on your PC). This one pretty clear.

Calibration files:

This is a bit confusing to me.
My first impression is that it is the files that we modify. But also, it says its the files are needed to update-modules.
Calibrating does not overwrite our existing mods. Does it maybe give more options?

Module Update:

• involve updating the firmware (program code) of a module. This process ensures that the module runs the latest
version of its software.
• The firmware update process typically involves flashing new code into the module’s flash memory.
• Updates can address bugs, improve performance, enhance features, or even introduce new functionalities.
Caution: Module updates can potentially overwrite any custom changes you’ve made in FORScan. Always back up your
configurations before updating.

This raises the question.
Could we reload our backup files after the update? or start from scratch again?
Pretty sure module reset and calibration files are safe to do.
Not to sure about updating module.
Would that be true?

Thanks again. (if anyone does answer :)

There are videos on YouTube on how to backup asbuilt (configuration data). There is no reason for you to do anything else but asbuilt changes.

Updating any modules calibration files is generally not required and nothing has changed in your vehicle for a very long time anyway but if you are into breaking your vehicle then go for it.
