SSM 46626 - Effective May 24 2017

SSM 46626 - SYNC® 3 System – Components Available As Service Child Parts

The following components within a SYNC® 3 system are now available as service child parts; Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) base part number 14G371, Front Display Interface Module (FDIM) base part number 18B955 and the Low Voltage Differential Signalling (LVDS) cable base part number 10E929. Microcat has been updated with the above information and the parts are available in PANDA for ordering. Technicians are reminded to refer to the applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs), General Service Bulletins (GSBs) and relevant Workshop Manual (WSM) sections to correctly diagnose components. Any warranty claim submitted witha SYNC® 3 upper level part (assembly base part number 14G370) rather than an available child part may result in a claim being sent for review. SSM: 46626

Does that imply Sync2->Sync3 upgrades are now possible, for a price?

I wouldn't think so. But it means you can now purchase the parts required in Australia to do it yourself.

Keep in mind it will not be programmed so better off waiting for wrecked Everest or Ranger. Could probably pull one from a Falcon but brackets wouldn't suit.

we can upgrade from sync 2 to 3,i been seen the selling the kit in USA and china,
but the problem is ranger not common ,so the don't provide the details to program the computer and they don't provide Australia map.

Yes Andrew you are correct but note that this TSB is specific to the Ranger and Everest so the parts are available as outlined above to suit these specific vehicles. It does not mean Ford will support you in the upgrade though.
