It works a treat, get audio and a visual warning about 250mts before the hazard.

I didn't need a hard reset.

It there a way to have the alert as a chime of some sort rather that the voice over saying 'WARNING'?

Stewart, I noticed you stated in the reply to Ross that the code you gave hime was only for his vehicle. What's the reasoning behind that?
Mines a 17' Sync 3 updated a couple of weeks ago at service will I have any issues if I use the same code?

Just use

APIM asbuilt

Line 7D0-02-02

You should have;
xxx8-xxxx-xxxx Hazard spot enabled
xxx0-xxxx-xxxx Is disabled

You can just select chime or chime and voice I think it is called. I have never just tried chime.

Even if you use Carplay or other these warning will still be heard in the background.

MY18 plus appear to have them on by default now.

Pretty sure is says Caution. Yes I don't listen to it.

In line 7DO-02-02 I have 0209-xxxx-xxxx from factory (As Built). I have not changed this.
I have the Hazard spot warning in the Nav option menu however i have no speed cameras visible.
Is there something else we can do or an update to these instructions. Failing this i go back to the TomTom mounted on the windscreen which beeps for fixed speed cameras when your over the limit, and you dont have to have a route entered. Brilliant function, if only the Sync 3 had it.
Cheers.

Settings, Navigation, Navigation Preferences. Enable hazard spot warning.

You will get an audible Caution and also see Triangles with explanation marks where hazards are located. These are school zone speed cameras etc.

Note that your maps are 2 years old and may not contain all speed cameras.

Caution will be said out load whether navigating or not.

Sync 3 has speed cameras enabled in the Escape and some very late model Rangers and Everests. There is no consistency to whether it is enabled or not though. It is not something a dealer can do and would need to be enabled on Fords backend servers then an update applied across the range.

At the end of the day the maps do support it but at the rate Ford does map updates I would expect the cameras will never be up to date. Best to you Waze on Android Auto for that or when the next update that comes out supports Waze for Carplay then use that. Bonus is the maps will also be up to date.
Is Android auto only enabled with a usb cable or can it work with bluetooth or over wifi

bricked the thing I think, half way through a write the piece of shit Ford ignition cut out came on and killed it.

I backed up but no idea where it stored or how to load it back up? it may have done nothing major but had a heap of module codes during next scan so cleared them but unsure the damage? can we turn off this auto ignition cutout during uploads?

Can you elaborate, bricked it? They are hard to kill and generally if it fails it will move to the other part of the flash.

Ideally you would do a full system update with the vehicle running, drivig to work etc. or on charge.

Also the APIM never really shuts down fully and would generally resume where it left off or start again.

Yes later on I got battery charged in vehicle and then where it was left at 20% I just hit write again but was very worried that vehicle shut down during write would cause a issue.

Whatever line you were writing just would not have written so no cause for concern. If only a part line is written there will be no confirmation on a succsess and no write.

cool just when it happened I panicked like unplugging a usb hard drive half way through a write didn't want gremlins but all seems good so far, it did take a couple ignition cycles to bring the fog drl settings back to how i had it setup but all good now

Hi,
This is interesting I updated from 3.3 to 3.4 firmware in my 19 WTrak and noticed hazard option is clicked but speed camera's are not showing on the map, has anyone else noticed this?.

Thanks in advance

Have not taken any notice visually. I still hear caution everyday so never crossed my mind. Will try and remember to look.
