Wildtrak Sailplane lights

Hi guys, I got a tray LED illumination kit which I would like to wire up directly to one of those tray light fittings built into the sailplane and eliminate messing with the car's wiring elsewhere by splicing in.

For access, I was wondering if the plastic shells of the sailplane just unclips along its seams and if so what is the technique to unclip them as I don't want to potentially break any clips holding them together, or otherwise any suggestions how to easiest to get to those lights or wire it in elsewhere? I do not fancy taking off the roller top and tray insert etc just for this.

Yeah, there is a 4-wire connection in the front of the LH rear wheel where the looms from the Engine Bay/Cab are(as per piccie). I managed to purchase a (non-oem) male and female connector with which i made a little break-out loom / patch harness to tap off the sailplane courtesy light circuit into the tub. I cannot recall which of the 4 conductors is the pair for the light(I vaguely recall the Purple and Yellow/blk, but dont quote me on that), pretty straight fwd to check out with a multi-meter or test light - the other pair obviously is for the stop light in the sailplane.

Hi, I am looking at doing the same thing and there is very little info out there. The standard light is rubbish. How did you get access to the connector? What panels did you have to remove?
Cheers and thanks for posting about this.

You can see this connector when you lay on your back in front of the LH rear wheel, in that side's front corner of the traybody. a whole bunch of cables running from the cab to the tray there. Easiest to access is to remove LH rear wheel, and undo the plastics scrivets holing the plastic arch in the wheelwell. Theres one large rivet to be drilled out, which I just replaced it with a small stainless nut and bolt with washers.
