Poly and Poly and Poly.

These things fit without modifying anything.
They suit all existing mounting points.
They weigh a lot less than steel.
They are as tough as nails.
They are cheaper from memory.

Steel can crack.
Steel is heavy.
Steel can rust if the gal has bad coverage.
I think steel needs new mounting positions ( Don't hold me to that ).

I think you will find if you can puncture the bottom of the ARB you would puncture the steel one also. These things are very thick.

Anyway, that is my opinion as I have one and done my pros and cons before buying.

Exactly what Stewart said. Plastic is inert, it will not corrode, its light and its bloody strong. My Frontier tank is great, I've been over a whole range of surfaces and while its slightly below the chassis rails its never come close to being in contact with the ground.

Hi all, I’m getting the Frontier 140L installed next week and I “think” I remember seeing somewhere in the forums that the float sensor was supposed to be bent but I’m dammed if I can find the post again.

Should this be done at all or just use the DTE Forscan change?

Any info greatfully accepted :D

If it is being fitted by an installer then they will bend the float. Part of the installation instructions is bending the float to 16mm, I bent mine to 18mm and find I have approx 4 litres left when DTE is zero.

16mm is the recommended on ARB install sheets.

You will change DTE after the install so you show the correct km left or it will only get to 800 odd km and basically be all over the place.

Can anyone recommend someone in Perth (prefer NOR) to supply/install one of the frontier tanks?

Thank you Stewart, I will certainly be making that change for DTE along with a number of other settings you’ve shared!

I fitted a Brown Davis steel tank 150L, useable 148L. Re-programmed tank capacity, no problems at all with DTE.
