6R80 Adaptive Transmission Tables

I have a 2022 PX3 with just on 10k kms. It has started to develop this annoying trait with the transmission.

When I am using the A/C and come to a complete stop or take off from stop it am greeted with what feels like a thump. Now it’s not huge but noticeable as it was not there before however I think I would be hard to convince Ford there is an issue as I would end up with the standard dealer run about.

Now I have done a bit of reading and a lot of people relate similar issues to the driveshaft slip yoke needing greasing. I thought if this was the case it would do it all the time even with the A/C off also being only 10k on the clock I wouldn’t have thought so.

I then stumbled across people talking about adaptive transmission tables and that you could reset them I found in the service section of FORScan that there is a service procedure to clear them.

I probably should have asked before I completed it however I did the reset and on the first drive noticed the issue was gone.

My questions are has anyone done this?
What does it actually do?
Why would you need to do it?
And if this something I may need to complete every 10k ish km if it comes back again?

Cheers

I had that happen when mine was under warranty. 6 Speed.

It happened at 50k km? Ford fixed it with software and has been fine since. Now at 127k km

Yeah wonder what software maybe there was an update? If that’s the case you I would think mine has it being the last of the PX series to be made.

Maybe it was just the reset like I have done time will tell so far so good. I still have 4 years of warranty so will take it in if it turns back up.

Update: So it was good for about a day now it has gone back to being crap.

Basically when at operating temp and I come to a stop it struggles and fells like a jolt when dropping back down to first. Then when I take off it does the same I get a bit of a jolt forward and then it goes fine.

Thing is the trans its self feels good all other changes are smooth it's just that initial on stop and start. It's very prominent with the AC on and very faint without not sure what that has to do with it?

Maybe a valve body issue
I saw a video about leakage causing shifting issues

Mine was basically the same, only at stop and start at lights.

Ok thanks I know it was a while ago but do you remember if it was worse with the AC on?

I’m just trying to collect data on when mine does it because if I take it to the dealer I want to be 100% sure they can get it to replicate the fault.

So far it only really happens when up to temp and with the AC on.

Does the idle rpm change with the aircon on? If it does and the idle increases, that may be the reason it's happening?

Yes I have noticed it does it get a bit of a vibration through the vehicle and a little idle increase when the compressor kicks in and out when stopped.

I had thought that maybe it was somewhat related. Maybe I am not looking in the correct spot for this issue? :?
