6R80 Adaptive Transmission Tables

I have a 2022 PX3 with just on 10k kms. It has started to develop this annoying trait with the transmission.
When I am using the A/C and come to a complete stop or take off from stop it am greeted with what feels like a thump. Now it’s not huge but noticeable as it was not there before however I think I would be hard to convince Ford there is an issue as I would end up with the standard dealer run about.
Now I have done a bit of reading and a lot of people relate similar issues to the driveshaft slip yoke needing greasing. I thought if this was the case it would do it all the time even with the A/C off also being only 10k on the clock I wouldn’t have thought so.
I then stumbled across people talking about adaptive transmission tables and that you could reset them I found in the service section of FORScan that there is a service procedure to clear them.
I probably should have asked before I completed it however I did the reset and on the first drive noticed the issue was gone.
My questions are has anyone done this?
What does it actually do?
Why would you need to do it?
And if this something I may need to complete every 10k ish km if it comes back again?
Cheers
