Switch illumination tap in point

I have most of the console and dash apart at the moment so thought I may as well do some additional wiring.

This is probably the easiest tap in point for for any aftermarket switches that require illumination, especially if you are using the Lightforce switch panel.

This is the 4WD switch that is located on all 4WD Rangers, it usually comes out easily but if not you may need to pop up the surrounding black panel and push out from underneath.

This will give illumination but as a bonus works with the dimmer switch on the dash.

Hi,

I am trying to find a switch illumination tap point in my Everest(Endeavour).

Would you recommend running off the terrain response switch or the switch panel with the diff lock/4L switches/etc.?

Thanks

Either or but have a feeling both don't work in that way but get a signal from other modules.

ATC/terrain switch is canbus and pretty sure it doesn't have an illumination input an I'm pretty sure the other switch pack is always lit by default but would have to check wiring diagrams.

If you do find one has it then either or, the choice is yours.

Hey Stewart,

thanks for this info, I was looking for a tap in point for my Lightforce switch panel already for a while.

Just one question, you extended the positive and negative wire. Is that necessary for the dimming or can I just use any ground point for the negative?

Sorry, if that is a stupid question, but I am new to car electrics... :?

Best regards

Marco

I would have taken both from that point as it was neater. There is no reason you cannot pull ground from any metal part of the vehicle. Ground is ground.

Enjoy.
