Modify Auto Shift Points

Hi All.

Wondering if it is possible to modify the auto gearshift points using the Forscan programme?

I have a 2016 Ranger XLT and it seems to hold gears for quite a while before changing up, even under light acceleration. Have tried resetting the transmission control module using Forscan in an attempt to "teach" the transmission a new driving style but doesnt seem to have helped at all.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Cheers

Troy

I think you can do a little more in Ford IDS software but not much.

I did write an Everest TCM asbuilt to mine just see see what happened. Nothing went bang but it did feel a little lazier.

I'm waiting on some more tools from overseas and once I have them I will look further into the TCM.

I can only say stay tuned.

After looking through the asbuilt TCM info, there is nothing that you will change at this point in time.

Don't play with it would for now would be my recommendation, this may change in the future but if you start comparing then nothing is really static between vehicle so there are numerous configuration ID but I have nothing else new to share on it at this stage.

End result is the asbuilt is the calibration file that has a number that matches a number in the transmission components. All this was found by chance when I dug deeper and then also started playing with some F150 calibration files.

Play with TCM at you own risk, I wouldn’t.
