Is there a way to disable the auto A/C On in Forscan when one uses the demister vent setting?

Pet peeve of mine as I like to have the air come in but not always from front vents or onto feet.
I find the front vents always manage to blow air on you even if you direct them away the air deflects off something back at you!
This is for when it is a cool day outside and I want fresh air to come in but not have it blow cold air on me.
I don't like using the heater...

All my previous vehicles you could choose to put the A/C on or off in demister vent setting.
The Ranger has the Max demister with A/C setting for quick demisting of windscreen if really required.

I want to be able to turn the A/C on and off as I want to. I know when to turn the A/C on to clear a misting up windscreen, don't need Ford forcing it on me.

I find it silly that Ford chose to not illuminate the A/C button when demister setting selected and not allow you to then turn it off.
Oddly, if i press the A/C button the switch lights up and I can press it again and the light goes off but no effect.

There have been a few people caught out by this that have complained about water under their Rangers but haven't put A/C on, not knowing that it turns on with demister vent setting. If the A/C button lit up at least people would be aware it's on.
Also the fuel consumption penalty...

Pretty much no. Its climate control it will pretty much do as it pleases anyway. On any of these the aircon is on more than most peaple think.

I have a very weird issue with climate control. For example, I set the temperature to 23 degrees, all fine, the cabin warms quite quickly, but once it reaches the set temperature it starts to blow cold air from the side vents. I'm literally feeling my left arm and leg freezing... This is all happening with air con on. It is relatively better when I turn the air con off. Do you have this issue? From my subaru I know it is better to have the air con on, do you keep air con on during the winter?

I was about to ask the same question, but mine doesn't have climate control, at least that I am aware of. PX2 XLS.

Frustration with mine is that it blows freezing dehumidified air at my face in demist and that is not necessary most of the time. I have resorted to opening windows and using the heater instead which is not optimal.

It is the whole idea of demist which is to clear the windscreen as fast as possible, hence aircon comes on as it removes the moisture.

There is no asbuilt changes etc that will rsolve it anyway.
