ARB Tank

I am getting a 140 Lt tank installed, and I am wondering if I can calibrate it this way.

In Forscan change the tank size to 140.

Fill tank and use car.

Go into the menu and note how many litres left.

Fill tank and note how many lts it takes.

So lts left = 80

Lts put in = 60, so all is good.

BUT if lts left is 60 and actual lts put in is 100 then I would need to go into Forscan and decrease the tank size to 120lts.

Would lts/100 still be accurate and what ever else it reads?

Alternatively, change my 720-03-01 3003-2000-007E to your 720-03-01 3005-7800-0008

After re-reading I should change mine to 3005-7800-00 and let the module sort out the last 2

Be easy if Forscan did it for me.

Sounds difficult.

Non asbuilt IPC, change fuel tank size from 80 to 140, write done.

I added it as to avoid everything you have said above.

If you are set on changing asbuilt which is the same thing anyway but more prone to users entering the wrong data then just change the 320 to 578, write, press ok, done.

I was hoping you would say that.

The only reason I would have to do a manual input would be if they didn't bend the float arm the correct amount.

Possibly, but they will bend it correctly so it won't really matter. Change to 140l, smile and job done.

The 140 is mainly used for DTE calculation. Float level is an analogue input for the gauge only.

So what happens with all those that have the larger tank, but haven't updated the tank size?

There DTE will show approx max value of 800km. When changed you will see 1200km plus all depending on past fuel usage.

While idea of changing the tank size is to display accurate DTE.
