After an app update, it stopped working on my GS7. :(

Fixed it though.... :D

Removed the header field (07E1), which sets it to Auto, and its working again.

You could try just 7E1 not 07E1. It was a bit of a habit writing it this way from when I was monitoring the Can Bus.

What's a good number to enter for the Transmission Temp high warning?

Depends on what temp the oil is good for. Talk to a transmission specialist and find out what a safe high figure is. I doubt you will reach it though.

Post a screen shot of the custom PID in torque, also what device are you using to connect to the vehicle?

For kicks try 7E1 instead of 07E1.

Also I am assuming you have an auto and not a manual?

Manuals do not have a transmission fluid temperature sensor. Hence name of PID.

Yes mate, its an Auto.

I have tried with the 0 and without, i have also restarted the phone, then deleted the current gauge and set it up under a new PID as well.

I must be doing something silly if its not working, just cant figure out what that may be

Cheers

Try the OBD link app and see if the PID works with that.

OK, so my current Bluetooth adapter didn't work with ODB link, so i purchased a new adapter. Tried ODB link and it works, so i thought for sh@#ts and giggles i would try torque again, it now works, so it must have been my adapter.

Thanks for the help guys

What adaptor did you have before? I assume it wasn't an OBDlink.

Gday,
I have the Ultraguage MX 1.3 for my PX2 Ranger. The Trans Temp is showing b/w 144-150 during normal driving. Can some advise the programming for this unit. Thanks!

I think you already have it sorted now but some of the most common UG codes are here viewtopic.php?f=19&t=58

So I put the ODBlink MX in and ended up using Torque application on my phone. Pretty cool really, monitoring temps, tyre pressures and DPF. Had to grab a couple of PID from here so thanks for the information. Had to play to get the tyres monitored on the right wheel after a recent rotation but nothing major. Decided not to try and get a reset device.

Guys,
I cannot get this working either.
Everything else seems to work except the ATF, the one thing I bought it for.
Tried a heap of different calcs but I don't get anything, not even the little green dot next to the name in the gauge.
Not sure the settings are all saving in the PID Editor.
I did see some message about storage space on the phone but there's not much on it as it's never been used.

Can only suggest you post pictures of your settings for that particular PID or if not contact the developer for help being you paid for it.

If other settings are wrong, changing calcs will not achieve anything. You could put "A" in calc and still read data from that PID although the output would make no sense.

Does it read misc engine parameters ok? If yes then I come back to how the PID is entered.

Try 7E1 rather than 07E1 and see if that resolves it.

Thanks Stewart,
I will try that & keep persisting.
I might try my good phone but not sure how to get the Torque Pro app on it without purchasing again.

I did some 'testing' (filling in time while in the passenger seat) the other day day with TFT and thought I would share my findings using TORQUE and an OBD MX+ dongle.
1. When using TORQUE and Custom PIDs, scroll to the bottom of the Custom PID screen and select TEST. This will show the logged 'A' and 'B' values and the calculated result. This is useful if you have issues (I had issues..) and confirms you entered the details correctly.
2. Using the correct TORQUE calculation for TFT {((A*256)+B)*10/160} shown at https://www.saeb.net/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2667 gave a value of "-0.16667". I traced this to an interaction issue between the OBD MX+ and the cars module. Fixing was achieved by Turning car off-on and could also be fixed by changing formula to ((signed(A)*256)+B)*10/160.
3. I confirmed that an alternative and often seen TFT formula shared for the Ranger is wrong - ((A*256)+B)*5/72-17. Do not use it. It will give a TFT temperature that is about 6C cooler than the correct TFT. (I suspect it is a faulty conversion from from USA modules that output TFT in fahrenheit)
4. ((A*256)+B)*10/160 is the same as ((A*256)+B)/16 if you want to save some typing.

hth someone someday.
