Power Mirror Switch Connector Pins

Hi All,

I was hoping that someone might be able to help me identify a connector pin part number that I am having trouble identifying.

I have recently purchased a Trac Electronics Power Mirror and Window Module kit for my PX1 and now started the install. Unfortunately after removing the connector from the back of the Power Mirror Switch I have found that I only have 7 holes pinned out in the connector instead of the required 9, with the two missing wires being for the power fold. The connectors to the mirrors in the doors are fully pinned out.

I have been through the wiring diagrams and this specific connector does not have a FoMoCo part number listed like most other connectors. The only potential identifier I can see is "MS-AL-10F", which would make some sense as it is a 10 pin female connector. I suspect it might be a Molex connector but there are no identifiable markings.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Duncan

So you replaced the mirrors? Would not have thought an XL PX1 would have the motors to retract the mirrors.

Where would you wire these missing to wires to?

Buy a couple of plugs off Trac with pins and you can populate and solder as many as you like.

Thanks for the reply Stewart. My Ranger is a real Frankenstein's Monster. It has basically been rebodied as a PX2 XLT before I bought it. Already has the PX2 Power Mirrors and the Power Mirror Switch with the folding button.

I contacted Trac before I posted this question to see if they had any pins or connectors for sale but unfortunately they didn't. I then asked if they could help me out with identifying the connectors or pins or supply part numbers so that I could source them myself but they were not keen to assist.

I was hoping the wiring diagrams might be the answer but again came upon a dead end. I know RS have a heap of pins on their website but without access to a physical store or someone with expertise it is a bit of a stab in the dark to find the right ones. I might have to start trawling the wreckers to get some loom sections.

That would be the easiest. Go and cut a couple of plugs off.

Well after many (many) hours searching online first at images and then page after page on electrical manufactures and wholesalers websites I have found the connector information for the Power Mirror Switch on a PX1. Just in case this style of connector is used elsewhere on any of the Ranger series I thought I would share this info with the forum.

Manufacturer: TE Connectivity (AMP)
Style: MULTILOCK 070 Series Automotive Connector

Regards,
Duncan

Sorry, I forgot to mention that both RS Components and Element14 have pins and connectors to suit available online.
