Hello All,
Over on a "different" Ranger forum, there's a quite large thread where people have started installing the various buttons in non-FX4 optioned trucks in order to gain access to the two major FX4 features. Trail Control, and Terrain Management.
Terrain Management was easy, you just click the option in forscan and hit write, and voila, the feature is enabled.
This leaves Trail Control to be "found".
Does anybody here have any insight on where I would start to look for this feature? I'd ASSume it's in the PCM, but I have no idea how to figure out what each code does.
Secondary we'd like to try and enable some of the other selectable drive modes available in various Raptor trim vehicles (Rock mode, baja, etc).
Even if nobody has any info, feel free to check out that "different" forum and share whatever you learn there with your mates here on the Ranger Mods forum.
Regards,
Chance

Rangers here do not have either. Everest has one option but not the other. See other thread for my answer.

Hello all,
I'm back on this topic somewhat. I noticed in the latest Forscan that the Trail Control option has appeared.
HOWEVER: It still does nothing when we set it. Does anyone have more information on what else we need to update in order for this feature to start working?

Pretty much same answer as I made last year.
I gave someone all the changes at some point and the outcome was still negative.
It will not only be firmware based in a couple of modules but also in the VID block of the PCM.
As we do not have the option, I cannot do much more than that.

I've decided to try this on my 2020 Ranger (US) Lariat Extended Cab.
I'm using AS-BUILT HACKER with modified XML to compare.
Would love to compare notes with someone.
I use the term TC for Trail Control which means FX4 as it's part of the package.
Here is what I have come up with:
It looks like
Instrument Cluster:
720-10-01 1004 1000 is Trail Control in combination with.. (1000 1000 is non Trail Control)
ABS:
760-02-01 0505 0A03 is FX4 equipped (0105 0A03 is without)
760-02-02 x4xx 4 is SuperCab, 5 is SuperCrew
760-02-02 xxx3 3 is FX4 equipped, 2 is without
760-03-01 xxx7 still working on this one... But it seems that EVEN is no TC/no FX4 and ODD has TC/FX4 Number Range from 4 to 7
IE: 4 No TC, 5 has TC, 6 No TC, 7 has TC (Loaded).
I also notice that 760-03-01 some have x2xx and some are x0xx but either not related to then TC/FX4 option
When I do this It complains about the BRAKES and ADVANCETRAC errors. So there must be some missing hardware, additional settings that also needs to be changed. I noticed on the F-150 a WIRE has to be run. Anyone have a wiring diagram for a 2020 Ranger?

I have the wiring diagrams book for the 2021 Rangers in the US market. I can't really share images of it, I can look up areas and tell you want I find for it. The Factory Service manual CD also includes the wiring diagrams electronically, perhaps with remote assistance you could view it.daczone wrote: ↑Tue Mar 22, 2022 3:44 am I've decided to try this on my 2020 Ranger (US) Lariat Extended Cab.
